Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners acquires Envo Biogas Tønder
Bech-Bruun has assisted Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) with the acquisition of a major Danish biogas project, expected to be one of the largest plants in Europe.
In a recently completed deal, CIP has acquired Envo Biogas Tønder from the Canadian energy company Anaergia. The purchase was made through the CI Advanced Bioenergy Fund and is CIP's first investment in a large-scale modern biogas project in Denmark.
Anaergia originally acquired and began construction on the Tønder project in late 2021 and injected the facility’s first biomethane into Danish pipelines in November 2022.
Bech-Bruun has assisted CIP throughout the process, and the team included Theis Kristensen, Søren Kjærgaard Rasmussen and Tine Pii and was headed by Simon Milthers.
