Bech-Bruun has advised the owners of Maki A/S on the sale of the Maki group to Danish private equity fund Capidea.
Maki was founded in 1995 and has since then developed into one of the leading distributors of toys in the Nordic region. Maki distributes over 60 international brands, and its products are sold in more than 5,000 Nordic stores and web shops.
Maki has its head office in Silkeborg and employs more than 60 people in the Nordic region.
The buyer of the company is the Danish private equity fund Capidea.
Closing of the transaction will also be the beginning of a new partnership between Capidea and two of the sellers, Michael Jensen and Niels Dahl-Nielsen, as they will continue as co-owners together with Capidea.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the Danish competition authorities.
We congratulate the parties on the transaction.
