Peter Stig Jakobsen is one of Denmark’s most experienced litigation lawyers, with a substantial number of cases in competition law, state aid, public procurement, damages and criminal matters before the Supreme Court, the High Courts, the Maritime and Commercial Court, the Competition Council, the Competition Appeals Tribunal, the Danish Complaints Board for Public Procurement, and the Court of Justice of the European Union, as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Peter Stig works closely with clients across a wide range of sectors, including media, consumer products and retail, agriculture, motor vehicles, manufacturing industries, construction industries, ports and utilities.

He has extensive expertise in state aid law, ranging from assessing potential state aid to notifying aid to the relevant authorities, as well as conducting state aid litigation, including proceedings before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

As a long-standing EU law adviser, he has also advised on, and conducted litigation concerning, a broad range of EU law matters within sectors such as media, agriculture, payments, retail and services.

Peter Stig’s many years of advising on and conducting litigation in the field of competition law, not least the competition rules of the TFEU, mean that he is highly experienced in the interpretation and application of EU law.

Finally, for many years Peter Stig has taught competition and marketing law at the University of Copenhagen and is a co-author of university textbooks on public procurement and competition law.
