As part of Bech-Bruun's Renewable Energy department, Joakim Hjortdal has been involved in a wide range of energy projects around the world, particularly offshore wind projects. Joakim has several years' experience in assisting developers and contractors in the drafting and negotiation of various supply contracts for energy projects and commercial framework and consultancy agreements.
Joakim has been involved in negotiations concerning the delivery of turbines to Portugal, Japan and Taiwan, and Joakim has been responsible for the drafting and negotiation of several other complex supply contracts for offshore wind projects, including foundation contracts, transportation and installation contracts (T&I) in countries such as the USA, The Netherlands, Taiwan etc. Joakim is highly experienced in combining legal and commercial solutions to ensure the best interfaces between various suppliers and the spreading of technical risks.
Through his role as legal adviser on several offshore wind projects using floating foundations, Joakim has also gained deep insight into the processes concerning this new technology and he can apply this combined knowledge in his drafting when he performs as a commercial and legal sounding board for the clients utilizing this new technology.
