With this our 2018 CSR report, we at Bech-Bruun for the tenth year running confirm our commitment to the UN Global Compact and the 10 principles with our focus areas: People, Society, Environment, and Ethics & Compliance.
Teamwork and collaboration were the central points of our CSR initiatives in 2018. This applies to in-house teamwork, our pro bono work and our working relationships with sustainable start-ups as well as the development of our staff.
Being a knowledge-based firm, our employees are our key resource, and in 2018 we highly emphasised training initiatives that would ensure our staff the best possible skills. For instance, we launched STRETCH, a targeted management and training programme for lawyers, equipping them to meet the challenges that impact the law industry and the markets on which our clients perform.
Being at the forefront of developments in our clients' sectors is an important part of our work. In 2018 we continued to share our knowledge through the Bech-Bruun Academy, offering more than 2018 free courses, late-afternoon seminars and all-day events to clients, business partners and other interested parties.
Accountable business conduct
With our new CSR report we are for the tenth year running confirming our commitment to the UN Global Compact, and as one of the leading law firms in Denmark responsible business conduct is a matter of course. Our ambition is to become even more sustainable in all our work processes, and in 2018 this involved various new initiatives.
Moreover, we have focused on the areas of ethics and compliance, offering courses on, for instance, compliance and the Danish Money Laundering Act.
