Environmental law regulation is constantly changing. As a counterbalance to progress and growth, environmental and nature protection as well as planning are frequently challenged when, for example, urban projects are developed and enterprises are expanded. Complexity often becomes the pivotal point when the damage is done, and the authorities are to enforce the law.
We are highly specialised in environmental and planning law, and we advise private and public enterprises as well as authorities on both Danish and international environmental and nature protection as well as planning. We know administrative procedures and characteristics of the area, and we understand the considerations guiding a politically managed organisation.
Our advisory services include:
- Coast protection
- Waste and resources (circular economy)
- Noise and odour pollution
- Soil contamination
- Nature protection, including habitat (Natura2000)
- Waste water treatment
- Water supplyEnvironmental approval, including regulation of listed industries
- Environmental administrative law
- Planning, including urban development
- Environmental assessment and EIA
- Water planning
- Natura2000
- Raw materials
- International environmental law.
Our team is made up of highly qualified and experienced environmental law advisers working closely together with specialists from all relevant practice areas. We work together with, among others, experienced legal advisers within fields, such as Public Law & Administration, Infrastructure and Energy & Supply.
We are also members of several networks, among others, the Confederation of Danish Industry's Environmental Committee, and sit on the board of the ATV Foundation for Soil and Groundwater (ATV Jord og Grundvand), the board of Danish Environmental Lawyers and the technical council of DAKOFA - Waste and Resource Network Denmark. We also hold the chairmanship in the sustainable development committee of the National Association for Building and the waste law network of DAKOFA. As a result, we have in-depth industry knowledge, and our understanding of environmental law always matches the reality within which our clients operate.
We are also responsible for the environmental law reporting on rules and judgments in Magazine for the Environment (Tidsskrift for miljø) published by DJØF Publishing, and we also cooperate with Karnov Group on the publication of Envionmental Law, 9th edition.
