Bech-Bruun assists Total S.A. in its acquisition of Maersk Oil
Bech-Bruun is assisting Total S.A. in its proposed acquisition of Maersk Oil from A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S for USD 7,495,000,000 (corresponding to approx. DKK 47,000,000,000) to be settled in Total shares and assumed debt. The transaction is thereby one of the largest M&A transactions in Denmark.
Bech-Bruun has assisted the oil giant Total S.A. throughout this transaction, which is subject to Danish law.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP is also assisting Total S.A. throughout the process with major teams working out of Paris and London (ref. here).
The proposed transaction is subject to the applicable legally required consultation and notification processes for employee representatives and to approvals by the relevant regulatory authorities.
