Bech-Bruun assists Knoll on acquisition of Muuto
Bech-Bruun assists US furniture and design firm Knoll in its acquisition of Danish design firm Muuto.
Knoll Inc. and Muuto have announced that Knoll has signed a definitive agreement on the acquisition of Muuto, a Copenhagen-based designer and provider of affordable luxury furniture, lighting and accessories for the workplace and home. The acquisition further advances the Knoll strategy of building its global capability as a go-to resource for workplaces and homes, including the commercial contract, decorator to-the-trade and consumer markets.
Knoll is listed on the NY Stock Exchange and designs, manufactures and sells contemporary ”high-end” furniture, lighting and other interior accessories for commercial and private customers. Like Knoll, Muuto is a design-driven enterprise in the area of furniture, lighting and other interior accessories for commercial and private customers but with particular success with its Scandinavian design of so-called ”affordable luxury” products, which complements Knoll’s already successful product range.
The purchase price is USD 300m (on a debt- and cash-free basis) and the transaction is expected to be completed in January 2018. Bech-Bruun has assisted Knoll throughout the transaction process.
