Ironman brand owner acquires YWC Sports
Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corporation, WTC, acquires Bech-Bruun client YWC Sports in Copenhagen.
Ironman brand owner World Triathlon Corporation, WTC, which organises Ironman challenges in more than 30 countries worldwide, including the three regional championships in North America, Europe and Asia and the world championship in Hawaii, has put Copenhagen on the map by acquiring Bech-Bruun client YWC Sports based in Copenhagen.
Since 2010, YWC Sports has organised the Danish triathlon events KMD Challenge Copenhagen and KMD Challenge Aarhus as well as other endurance sport events such as the KMD 4-18-4, a triathlon light event, and the bicycle race GrandFondo.
KMD will continue to sponsor the YWC organised challenges. Following YWC’s membership of the Ironman family, contestants can now qualify for the Ironman world championship in Hawaii. The acquisition moreover entitles the KMD challenges to take the names Ironman Copenhagen and Ironman Aarhus.
