This is laid down in s. 12 of the Danish Subsoil Act (undergrundsloven).

The content of the report regarding the framework conditions is confidential until the committee review has been completed. However the committee has published a committee review timetable.

The timetable deadlines are:

  • 19 March 2014: Deadline for the committee members’ submission of questions to the Minister for Climate, Energy and Building.
  • 27 March 2014: Deadline for the Minister's replies to the questions.
  • 31 March 2014: Deadline for comments.

The 7th Licensing Round for oil and gas approaching
The 7th Danish Licensing Round for hydrocarbon licences was announced in 2013 but was deferred awaiting the Danish Energy Board of Appeal’s decision on a matter concerning complaints regarding the Danish Energy Agency’s Strategic Environmental Assessment filed by 10 German environmental organisations. The Energy Board of Appeal dismissed the complaints in a decision of 21 February 2014.

Following the Energy Board of Appeal’s decision, the licensing round awaits only the completion of the committee review. Subsequently, the 7th Danish Licensing Round for hydrocarbon licences will be initiated.
