Denmark to relax crowdfunding rules

The financing concept crowdfunding is booming in most countries except for Denmark. The Danish Minister of Business and Growth has agreed to review Danish legislation in order to open up for equity crowdfunding.

Crowdfunding is becoming an increasingly popular financing concept outside Denmark. Equity crowdfunding, also known as network financing, involves many investors acquiring small stock portfolios in businesses via Internet portals.

Minister to relax legislation
However, Danish legislation prevents Danish Internet portal providers from coming into operation, which is something the Danish Minister of Business and Growth Henrik Sass Larsen wishes to change. He has agreed to review Danish legislation within the area in order to find a more suitable and responsible way of exploiting the new venture capital opportunities for new and small businesses.
