Official opening: Bech-Bruun’s New York office
On Tuesday afternoon, the doors leading into Bech-Bruun’s new offices in New York were officially opened. The office will be an important station for Bech-Bruun’s international advisory services in the area of wind power and is established as part of the cooperation with CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners).
The tall windows on the 15th floor give visitors to Bech-Bruun’s new offices in New York an excellent view of south-west Manhattan. The office was officially opened on Tuesday afternoon, and business partners, clients, the Danish ambassador to the USA and a number of close relations attended the opening reception at the address in New York’s Meatpacking District. The beautiful view of the Hudson River is overwhelming and the new offices, opened in cooperation with CIP (Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners), are part of a strategic move designed to facilitate even closer cooperation with our clients in the international area of wind power.
"Our offshore team has worked closely together with CIP since it was established six years ago, and with the opening of the office we are looking forward to strengthening our close cooperation. We have a team of specialists with substantial insight into the area and who have in particular specialised in the contractual aspects of infrastructure projects and offshore wind projects. This makes it attractive and relevant to also be present in the international wind power market, and we are very pleased to be able to take this step together with CIP, which is one of the most interesting infrastructure players. Our presence in New York is not about competing with local law firms on the provision of advice on local law. Rather, the office will allow us to get very close to the large international infrastructure and wind power projects", says Simon Evers Kalsmose-Hjelmborg, managing partner of Bech-Bruun.
To begin with, partners Peter Østergaard Nielsen and Jakob Østervang will be assigned to the new office together with employees from CIP. Together with the associated company COP (Copenhagen Offshore Partners), CIP is one of the leading developers of green infrastructure projects in the world with particular focus on offshore wind (offshore wind turbines). The office will also perform as a hub for closer cooperation with other clients which could be interested in Bech-Bruun’s services in the USA.
