Bech-Bruun wins award at Mergermarket European M&A Award 2017
Bech-Bruun may now boast of having won the 'Denmark M&A Legal Adviser of the Year' award last night at the annual Mergermarket European M&A Awards in London. A total of seven Danish law firms were shortlisted in this category.
Mergermarket European M&A Award 2017 unites the best European M&A players from both the financial sector and the law sector. More than 40 awards are presented to European businesses specialising in M&A which have succeeded in delivering quite unique creative advisory work on complex transactions in 2017. Bech-Bruun won this year's 'Denmark M&A Legal Adviser of the year' category.
"We are pleased with winning this award," says partner Steen Rode. "For every transaction, we strive to put together a team that will guarantee that our clients are always taken care of in the best possible way. To us, this award is a true recognition of our work and success. For this award in particular, we chose to single out two transactions in 2017 as they represent the diversity of our M&A practice as well as our policy of always thinking and working as one business in Bech-Bruun to the benefit of the individual client."
During the year, Bech-Bruun has assisted clients in several large transactions. The two most significant transactions singled out for this award involve Total S.A.'s acquisition of Mærsk Oil (Mærsk Olie og Gas A/S) and the agreement between Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, ATP and Macquarie on a shareholding in Copenhagen Airports (Københavns Lufthavne A/S). Both transactions required specialised skills and professional expertise in more than one area and this included close teamwork across Bech-Bruun's organisation and strict process management in order to handle the abundance of complex, regulatory aspects and processes, which the two transactions encompassed.
Bech-Bruun was on the shortlist for this category together with Accura, DLA Piper, Gorrissen Federspiel, Kromann Reumert, Lundgrens and Plesner.
