Bech-Bruun to investigate dividend fraud case
The Minister of Taxation has just appointed Bech-Bruun to head the independent legal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding SKAT’s reimbursement of dividend tax.
The inquiry will focus on how it was possible for presumed international fraudsters to get SKAT to pay DKK 12.3 billion during the years 2012-2015.
Bech-Bruun was selected on the basis of an overall assessment of price and quality. Lars Lindencrone Petersen
will as head of the inquiry lead a very strong team. Lars has considerable experience with this type of inquiry. Among other things, he headed the commission of inquiry which in 2004-2006 investigated why former Minister of Taxation Svend Erik Hovmand (The Liberal party of Denmark) failed to close a tax loophole at an early stage. In addition to Lars Lindencrone Petersen, the team numbers two strong Bech-Bruun profiles; Thomas Frøbert
, head of the tax practice group, and Lise Lauridsen
, head of the employment law practice group.
Eight law firms had offered to lead the inquiry.
