New partner specialising in the energy industry
Bech-Bruun's group of partners now counts a new profile: Peter Østergaard Nielsen – expert on drafting and negotiation of complex construction contracts for offshore projects, etc.
On 1 February 2016, Peter Østergaard Nielsen joined Bech-Bruun as a new partner and will with his expertise in international contracts contribute to strengthening the legal advice rendered by Bech-Bruun in connection with, for example, setting up and conducting transactions with energy assets.
Peter Østergaard Nielsen has many years of experience rendering legal and commercial advice on offshore wind construction contracts. Previously, he for example distinguished himself as Head of Legal Sourcing and Strategy Contracts at DONG Energy and also has sound knowledge of Bech-Bruun as he was previously employed with Bech-Bruun as a junior associate.
"It will be a happy reunion. The energy industry is presently experiencing several activities in connection with the change to renewable energy. Specialists advising on complex international contracts are, therefore, in high demand. Peter is one of Europe's leading experts in this specific field and, with his substantial experience, I firmly believe that he will contribute to consolidating Bech-Bruun's position in this field of law," says managing partner, Simon Evers Kalsmose-Hjelmborg.
Peter Østergaard Nielsen is highly experienced in complex contract negotiation processes, the description of legal, commercial and structural risks as well as the negotiation, structuring and drafting of sets of contracts on the part of suppliers and procurement entities.
At Bech-Bruun, Peter will join the Public Law practice group and the industry team Energy and become part of a team including several strong profiles in this field of law.
