Improved learning facilities at 11 schools in Africa
Bech-Bruun’s partnership with Save the Children Denmark aims at improving the learning environment at 11 schools in Africa and has, among other things, resulted in post training of teachers and improved physics classroom equipment.
The partnership between Bech-Bruun and Save the Children Denmark runs until 2017 but has already improved the learning environment for the children and teachers at 11 schools in Ethiopia.
Post training of 103 teachers.
Creation of 534 child-to-child support groups to prevent school dropout. A number of teachers have been trained in creating support groups and supporting their learning within a range of academic subjects.
Outstanding students have been rewarded for their efforts and academic results.
225 writing desks have been distributed among the 11 schools.
The schools have been equipped with new textbooks and educational material as well as new equipment for the physics classrooms.
The partnership between Bech-Bruun and Save the Children Denmark has existed for several years. In 2012, the partnership was extended to 2017 with the aim of improving the quality of the teaching at the 11 schools.

The partnership between Bech-Bruun and Save the Children Denmark is a part of our CSR profile.
The partnership aims at supporting 11 schools, 5,500 children and 500 teachers in Ethiopia.
The schools are located in the Ensaro district, north of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. They include the Mite School, the construction of which was sponsored by Bech-Bruun.
Our donations help improve school facilities and teaching materials and facilitate the training of teachers.
The target group also includes 250 parent teacher associations, the parents of the 5,500 children and the local communities.
