Law firm merger creates a stronger Bech-Bruun
Two of Denmark's most respected law firms – Bech-Bruun and Philip – are merging. Denmark's second largest law firm will continue to conduct business under the name Bech-Bruun and will have 550 staff members, of which 275 are lawyers. The merger will take effect from 1 January 2012.
The merger is a focused step in both firms' expansion plans and the new Bech-Bruun will be additionally equipped to grow in the competitive market of the future. With the client as the focal point, the firms are preparing plans for future growth.
"We consider the merger of our two law firms as a perfect match and we consider Bech-Bruun to be a very professional and well trimmed organisation", says Jesper Rothe, Chairman of the Board of Directors and partner at Philip and continues "The partnership will raise the level of advice rendered to companies to new heights, which accommodates the fact that the realities which our clients face today are increasingly complex. The synergy effect which will be achieved on merger will contribute to increasing our collective competiveness".
The merger of the two highly specialised law firms strengthens both firms' strategic focus.
"Philip is a very well-reputed, full-service law firm with specialist competencies and a strong client base, which fits in well with the strategic focus of Bech-Bruun" states Randi Bach Poulsen, Managing Partner at Bech-Bruun and adds "Bech-Bruun has brought on board competencies and experience, which means that our market position is strengthened in many areas".
The merger will enable Bech-Bruun to further develop its international networks and activities.
Philip will relocate to Bech-Bruun's domicile at Langelinie Allé 35, 2100 Copenhagen, Denmark at the beginning of 2012.
