Common challenges
Sign-on bonuses, incentive schemes and other performance-related remuneration are expected by company executives and key employees. Striking the right balance between incentivising employees and accommodating the needs of the company and its shareholders can be challenging.

In the aftermath of the financial crisis, excessive compensation packages for executives have been much discussed at annual meetings and particularly in the media.

Moreover, complicated rules, which have not been fully clarified yet, have been introduced regulating remuneration packages for board members, executives and “risk takers” in the financial sector.
