2005 was a satisfactory year for Bech-Bruun and fee income reached a new record high of more than DKK 500m. Low interest rates and favourable equity market developments boosted activity within M&A and related transaction work.
The year was characterized by a number of major international transactions, the largest being the acquisition of TDC and the sale of Chr. Hansen Holding’s food ingredients division.
- The international market represents great potential for growth and therefore we will continue to recruit employees with an international profile, says Lars Svenning Andersen, Managing Partner.
To further strengthen our expertise, 2006 will focus on knowledge sharing with the aim of being the leading Danish law firm in this field.
- We wish to set a new course in the legal services industry by recruiting lawyers whose exclusive task will be to focus on knowledge management, comments Lars Svenning Andersen.
2005 in brief
- Positive economic trends have generated a rising level of activity in particular in transactions and aquisition financing where we provided legal advice in a number of the year’s largest Danish and international transactions.
- We have continued to enhance the efficiency of our working procedures and improve the utilisation of resources – a process which was implemented in 2004.
- Our most recent initiatives within employee development have begun to take shape. Based on the results of a job satisfaction survey, we have expanded our training activities in order to retain and develop our employees and to continue to be an attractive workplace for the best and brightest.
